My name is Yana Yakubchik and I’m a painter working from home in New Jersey. My paintings incorporate drawing and with as few lines as possible, I try to produce an image with movement and humor. I like to work with a range of materials, including gel pens, markers, watercolor, and acrylics and keep my palette to a minimum. When I’m not painting, I’m outside working in my garden. This time spent outside finds its way into my work and influences my marks. I was born in 1989 in New Brunswick, NJ. In 2013, I received my BFA from Rutgers: Mason Gross School of the Arts. My art has been exhibited primarily in NJ galleries and creative spaces. I currently live and work in Morganville, NJ.
